The IEC System for Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) Certification Body (CB) Scheme is the world's first international system for the mutual acceptance of product safety test reports andcertificates for electrical and electronic equipment, devices and components.
People often say ISO Certified†but ISO does not issue certificates or certify individual companies to any standard. They are issued by certification/registration bodies (also called Registrars or CB's), which are independent of ISO. CB's need to be accredited by an IAF member to be internationally recognized.ISO 9001 Certified means an organization has met the requirements in the ISO9001 Quality Management System (QMS). ISO 9001:2008 is focused on meeting customer expectations and delivering customer satisfaction so that more focus can be served to the customer.
IECEx is the IEC System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres. It uses quality assessment specifications that are based on International Standards prepared by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
